TDS and COA serve different purposes
A technical data sheet describes the product, intended applications, typical ranges and handling recommendations. A certificate of analysis reports results assigned to an identified batch or production lot.
Properties to review
| Area | Points to confirm |
|---|---|
| Identification | Origin, treatment, product form and batch traceability. |
| Fluid properties | Preparation protocol, concentration, hydration time and measurement method. |
| Filtration | Test duration, pressure, method and unit. |
| Fineness | Sieve residue or particle-size distribution. |
| Moisture | Measurement method and delivery tolerance. |
Build a comparable trial
- Identify representative samples.
- Use the same water and concentration.
- Apply the same mixing and hydration procedure.
- Repeat critical measurements.
- Compare results against limits defined in advance.
ImportantA typical value should not be compared with a batch-control value without confirming the method, concentration and test water.
